Our experience with Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino Document Manager, combined with our understanding of Nuxeo, gives us unique insight into bringing the platforms closer together. metaLogic is set to announce a toolset that provides integration between Lotus Notes and Nuxeo and automates migration of content from Lotus Domino Document Manager.
There are two flavors of integration with Lotus Notes. First, a user-centric approach allows users to select email (or Notes documents), select a Nuxeo folder, and then copy email to the selected Nuxeo folder. This is a great way to capture project email and place them in a shared Nuxeo repository.
The second approach is server-centric and requires no user interaction. A server-based process opens Lotus Notes mailboxes and copies content to Nuxeo based on defined criteria (e.g., copy all email with project code 4560 to folder PR4560 in Nuxeo). In this way content is captured based on email and document attributes without the need for the user to take action. Of course, this approach could be used for many purposes, including discovery searches.
The integration and migration will be configurable and can be customized to meet the unique requirements of individual companies.
